Specifications and Standards that SKEN may (or must) utilize.

OAI-PMH
Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting. We must implement this. Their was a good workshop on this at the 2004 NSDL conference in Chicago. A link to the workshop notes will be posted when they become available.
SCORM
Sharable Content Object Reference Model. This standard aims to foster creation of reusable learning content as "instructional objects" within a common technical framework for computer and Web-based learning. SCORM describes that technical framework by providing a harmonized set of guidelines, specification and standards. In particular the navigation and sequencing part of the standard may be useful.
IMS
The mission of the IMS Global Learning Consortium is to support the adoption and use of learning technology worldwide. This organization defines several specifications that might be useful, especially with respect to sequencing content.
